a lot has been made of this movie being a flop before it even came out, but it's actually a very solid, if by-the-numbers, historical thriller. Knowing the ending in advance takes away some of the tension, but by no means is it as bad as the advance buzz could have made it seem. Even with Tom Cruise wearing an eye-patch.**1/2
